Creating environments from repurposed materials, giving old ideas a personal twist, recycling her own artwork and giving life to her iconic marks, Rosario Rivera-Bond’s “Splash” springs into MAM (Museo de Arte Moderno) in Santo Domingo on March 1st, 2017.
With her masterful use of palette and her gestural splashes and marks, Rosario invites us into her innermost yearning of balance, harmony, celebration of life and environmental consciousness. The use of geometric images within her intuitive gesticulations metaphorically sheds light on the inception of man’s hand in the natural world. By crafting a garden from repurposed objects, Mrs. Rivera-Bond reminds us all that these simple materials were once part of a majestic forest and other natural resources that could be wiped out if we continue our use-once-and-destroy culture.
